Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Services, Inc. operates more than 130 ambulances in the Chicagoland area and 30 in Northwest Indiana, making it the largest independently owned and operated Emergency Medical Services provider in Illinois. Of the 130 ambulances in service every day, 40 are Advanced Life Support, 10 are Critical Care, 70 provide Basic Life Support and 5 service bariatric patients.
Superior provides Emergency Medical Services to more than 500 events every year, including Northwestern University sports events, Chicago Cubs games at Wrigley Field, sports and other events at US Cellular Field, Chicago Bears football games, McCormick Place, the Chicago Marathon, Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, and The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
Superior utilizes state-of-the-art technology in its Dispatch Center. All dispatchers and call takers go through rigorous training to meet the high standards held for our employees. In addition to training, all Dispatch Center employees are continuously monitored for Quality Improvement.
Through affiliated companies, Superior provides paramedics, firefighters, rescue divers, ambulances, and emergency medical equipment to municipalities and fire protection districts. Paramedic Billing Service, Inc., also in the Superior family of companies, provides experts in ambulance transport billing for municipalities and Fire Protection Districts. Another affiliated company, Norcomm Public Safety Communications, provides 9-1-1 dispatch service. The most recent addition to the Superior family is our flight operation. Based out of DuPage Airport, Air Med 1 boasts the highest standard in medical equipment and a highly-trained flight team.
